CZECH AND PAKISTANI HEROINES

The National College of Arts celebrates the Diamond Jubilee, the 75th Independence Day Anniversary of Pakistan with high spirits and traditional zeal. The event commenced with National Flag Hoisting following a Tree Plantation Ceremony and an exhibition on 14th August 2022 in the college. The Flag was hoisted by Vice Chancellor National College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Murtaza in the presence of college officials and staff. The college was decorated with pennants, flags and memorial flexes to commemorate the struggles and stories of partition which led us towards freedom.

The exhibition was held at NCA Gallery in collaboration with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in which posters of fifty influential women from both Pakistan and the Czech Republic were displayed. The idea was to pay special tribute to more than fifty women of both countries for their exemplary services towards their individual fields and to the country as well. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Minister of Education and Professional Training Honourable Rana Tanveer Hussain who stated that the women of Pakistan are not less than anyone in the world and have played a commendable role in making the country proud. He also said that these kinds of events are very significant to build strong cultural ties with other countries to propagate our national spirit worldwide.

Adding to that, Vice-Chancellor National College of Arts Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri mentioned that the services of the women who are being paid a special tribute today have been recognized not only in Pakistan but across nations. He stated that at this significant stage of Diamond Jubilee celebrations we must strengthen our pledge with our homeland and remember to reiterate the spirit of unity, faith and discipline which our founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah stressed upon.

The celebrations followed entertaining musical performances by the students from the musicology department which uplifted the event.
