The National College of Arts, in collaboration with the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW), organized an art and photography competition and exhibition at the Zahoorul Akhlaq Gallery. Third year students from NCA actively participated, presenting their unique perspectives through painting and photography.
Inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri, the competition aimed to provide students with an opportunity to understand contemporary issues faced by women and express their views creatively.
The competition addressed themes such as violence against women, women's political representation, economic empowerment, challenges faced by women with special needs, health and reproductive rights, and the role of women in Pakistan’s digitalization.
Deputy Chief NCSW, Shabana Nawaz; Ayra Indrias, Member NCSW; Rumaisa Khalid Programme Consultant NCSW from UNICEF; emphasized that the exhibition plays a crucial role in highlighting significant issues women face on both social and cultural levels.
