Transmuted

The exhibition "Transmuted," highlighting the innovative works of 9th semester architecture students, opened at the National College of Arts on May 27th, 2024. This two-day event explores architectural narratives with a focus on innovation and solutions for contemporary challenges.

In a world grappling with the complexities of built environments, "Transmuted" emerged as a beacon of creativity and forward-thinking. The exhibition, presented through six distinct studios, each with its own unique approach, explored diverse methodologies to redefine contemporary architecture. The works on display provided a glimpse into the future trajectory of architectural processes, aiming to create robust narratives that address pressing issues of expression, habitation, incubation, and ecological well-being.

"We are thrilled to showcase the talent and ingenuity of our 9th-semester architecture students through 'Transmuted'," said Prof. Dr. Faisal Sajjad, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture. The exhibition is on display until 4:30 pm, May 28.

Creation In Translation [Case Study 01]

The exhibition "Creation in Translation [Case Study 01]," curated by Ms. Ghazala Raees, opened at the Zahoor ul Akhlaq Gallery of National College of Arts, on 20th May 2024. This research project explores the interplay of art, memory, and history, featuring eight artists who examined the concepts of 'remembering the past' and 'making history' through co-design methodologies.

The project is a part of the curator’s residency by Vasl Artists’ Association in collaboration with the British Council and Gasworks. Display include works by Ayaz Jokhio, Sohail Zuberi and Anushka Rustomji, among others, and featured an animation by Sophia Balagamwala. It also displayed an interactive compilation of personal histories.

After a successful run at the Theosophical Society Library in Karachi, the exhibition moved to the Zahoor ul Akhlaq Gallery at NCA; emphasizing our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri's vision to foster creative dialogue and cultural exchange through such exhibitions.

The exhibition will be on display until 22nd May 2024.
